More than a century of all-weather writing

Rite in the Rain began in Washington State in 1916, created to help Pacific Northwest loggers record critical measurements in persistent rain. The brand continues to manufacture all-weather paper products in Tacoma, supporting outdoor professionals, military and public-safety personnel, engineers, and explorers around the world.

Its proprietary paper sheds water and works with pencils or all-weather pens in wet conditions. The wood-based paper is recyclable, while the manufacturing process uses a water-based coating and soy-based printing inks to balance field durability with environmental responsibility.

How to choose

Choose a waterproof notebook for general field notes, a professional book or reference card for structured records, and a cover, field desk, or tactical system for mission carry.

Writing tool guidance

Use a pencil or Rite in the Rain all-weather pen when wet. Standard ballpoints and permanent markers also work once the paper is dry.
